"Too Busy Gettin' Busy" is the fifth studio album by Matthew Kelso. Written recorded all in one session November 2, 2024 at Brunjo, this album recalls free bop, hip hop instrumentals, hard funk, and vinyl crate digging. An approach of less thinking, more magic was applied and the songs came fast. The ask was of great musicians to put it all on the table and see what happens. No recording here was beyond a second take, with "Crab Dance" being a first take. We often over think and forget to move around, get weird, and let it be loose. These six songs have a funk and groove from the rhythm section that is pushed along by free roaming strands of sax, synth, and guitar. Mt. Zephyr Records is proud to present this album for 2025, with a spirit of collaboration, improvisation, and wonder.
